▪▪▪ The History ▪▪▪
The Eagle Lock Company, established in 1833, was at one time the largest trunk and cabinet lock maker in the world. Founded by Eli Terry, Jr, the company constructed two dams in the Pequabuck River in Terryville, Connecticut to provide power for the lock factory (pictured). Eagle was an active business until it officially closed in 1975. The Lock Museum of America now sits across the street from the old Eagle factory.

We know it's hard to buy jewelry, especially a ring, without trying it on. Because of this, we do our best to measure the size of each ring so you can find one that fits you. If you aren't sure what size you are, please take a look at this PDF that has the "string" method instructions and a chart for finding your ring size on any finger: http://www.fredmeyerjewelers.com/Assets/Pdfs/ring-size-finder.pdf. We do not "officially" recommend trying to resize rings since there is a chance resizing could damage the powder-coated layer or crack the metal - but it is possible for small adjustments. Attempted re-sizing will make a ring non-returnable / exchangable.
If you like a certain style in our shop, but we don't have one in your exact size, just send us a message and we'll work with you to pick out a similar style of key (or the closest available). Once we decide on your perfect key, we'll make it especially for you, in your preferred size, for no additional charge!
We can hand stamp anything you like on any custom order (not on already shaped rings). How does it work? Send us a message with the size you'd like, a style of key you'd prefer (if there is one) and what you'd like it to say (capital letters, numbers 0-9, and the & sign are available). We'll then send you a picture of the keys that would work for you to choose from. All engraving (unlimited characters) is just $5 extra.
These keys are old! Many of them were at least partially covered in rust before we polished and fired them, leaving beautiful pitting that can only come with real age. Though the rust and dirt have been vanquished, the signs of their past existence remain. Do remember, however, that our pictures are taken at extremely close-up angles to show you the details of the product. Some of the tiny details you might see (dust particles, scratches, pitting, patina, etc) in the pictures may not be visible to the naked eye.
Because we want them to last a long time, all of our antique key rings are powder-coated! This is an environmentally friendly, electrostratically applied, professional grade, extremely durable polymer clear-coat that uniformly covers the whole ring! Along with protection from scratches, elements, and wear, it gives each ring a smooth feel and a slightly glossy finish. They will NOT turn your finger weird colors!
Even if you know you are sensitive to metals or if you've had problems with jewelry on your skin in the past, our rings will be just fine! All of our rings are either steel or brass, but since each one of our rings is powder-coated, your skin never actually comes into contact with the metal itself. Sensitive skinned people can wear our rings with no problems.
In addition to selling here on Etsy, I also do 4-5 markets per month. This means the rings listed here do move quickly, so if you see one you want it is very likely that it won't be around in the shop for long. Each one is one-of-a-kind, so be sure to purchase your favorites today!
Help TKH give a goat to a family in need! In countries like Haiti and Kenya, goats nourish a family with protein-rich milk, cheese, and yogurt, and can offer a much-needed income boost by providing offspring and extra dairy products for sale at the market. They even provide fertilizer that can dramatically increase crop yields! At TKH, we commit a percentage of our profits to purchasing goats through Heifer International, a humanitarian organization dedicated to ending world hunger and poverty (www.heifer.org). If only we could give kettles too!
